Email marketing is sending emails to specific people in order to increase your sales, increase your web traffic and engage with your audience. There are several types of email marketing:

1. Regular Email Marketing: Sending newsletters to promote your services… etc

2. Cold Email Marketing: Searching for targeted email lists, then sending a cold email to turn the target prospect into a customer.

3. Bulk Email Marketing: People who collect, scrape or buy emails and start sending promotional emails (mainly affiliate links) to earn some commission.

The difference between a legal cold email and a cold email that is meant for spamming is the goal of your campaign. If you send thousands of emails to people whom you don’t know and your goal is to get clicks, then your actions will be considered spamming. While, in cold mailing, you send an email promoting a service or a product. These emails are usually sent to specific people like the CEO of companies.

In order to start sending email marketing campaigns and getting successful results, you need an email marketing system or service. All email marketing companies don’t allow cold emails since allowing them means that a big number of spammers will enter their platforms.

How can we send cold emails?

- G Suite: You can build an email marketing system by connecting G Suite to G Mass to be able to send cold emails.

- Office 365: It’s a cloud-based subscription model version of Microsoft’s popular productivity Suite Microsoft office, you can build an email marketing system using it.

Another option is building your own email marketing system, your own SMTP server. You can do that with the help of SMTP software like Postal, WebNet, Windows Mail Server (hMailServer), and PowerMTA. After building your SMTP server, you need to connect it with an email marketing application like MailWizz or mautic.

I am doing email marketing since 2013 and what I learnt that first you need to have a cleaned list.

If you don't have a cleaned list it doesn't matter the email content, subject, IP, domain, SMTP the campaign will fail.
